The Lawson Hut
History of the Lawson Hut
The Lawson Hut was a gift to the village by Mrs Victoria May Lawson in memory of her late husband, Willaim Lawson, churchwarden at St Mary's Church, Badsworth, who died 18th October 1918.
The Hut was erected in 1921 and the Rector at the time was Rev. Cuthbert Thicknesse
Since its erection in 1921 the Hut has been managed and maintained solely by volunteers i.e The Management committee, Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and Booking Clerk.
Many of the present volunteers have looked after the upkeep of the Hut for many years
Since its original use as a First World War Nissan Hut, the Lawson Hut has been a great asset to all the people who have made use of it since appearing in Badsworth in 1921.
