MISSING ROAD SIGNS
Friends want to visit but don't know where!
We say, "Turn left and then you're there.
But on the main road signs have gone!
Oh Highways lads, what have you done?
Badsworth is a thriving place,
But lacking signs, we're off the face
Of the earth, can folk not see,
We need a return of identity.
Some signs put up, bold and true,
Come on show what you can do!
From the A638 a nice bold sign
Will suit us all, mighty fine.
You know where to come for Council Tax
So this lack of signage is VERY lax
I know you'll do your level best.
'cos NO ROAD SIGNS - it's such a pest!!!

MISSING ROAD SIGNS - BADSWORTH
Road signs are such a tricky beast,
Some foul swine thinks the're such a feast,
Recent work consumed with ease
Your Badsworth signs, which left a tease.
We have however designed anew
Some lovely signs that should help you.
Hopefully soon our work will be done
And missing signs should number NONE.
So I watched and waited - nothing happened.
Eventually I sent another missive to the same department.
MISSING ROAD SIGNS PART TWO
On the 13th November to me you wrote
About signs, now let me quote -
"We have designed anew
Some lovely signs that should help you..-"
You hoped the work would soon be done,
But I can tell you - signs - NOT ONE!
I am sure , on Christmas Day
If Santa cannot find his way
No happy wishes will there be
For the Highways lads at WMDC
How about a New Year plan
Bask in glory from the praise
You'll get when once more our signs you raise.
Put Badsworth back on the map,
And stick a feather in your cap.
Happy Xmas "highway men"
I'm holding my breath as I count to ten

MISSING ROAD SIGNS - BADSWORTH Continuing the theme
First of all I must apologise.
For missing signs that have not materialised,
It does however give me pleasure
To announce more detail on your new treasure.
Contractors have promised me for you,
Those lovely signs, numbering two.
The trouble is they are so large
So mounting them is jolly.
Work is programmed though sometimes vary'
But should be done by the end of January.
For your info I have attached
A little drawing with signs to match.
Here's hoping you will agree
That these new signs will meet your needs.

As Bethan points out these signs are ADVANCED WARNING SIGNS some 1 mile from the turning and we still need the original sign at the end of New Road replacing
