341.0 Apologies for Absence
Apologies were received from Councillor Barry Shakespeare
342.0 Declarations of Interest
No declarations of interest were given
343.0 Police Safe Scheme
In attendance were Inspector Dave Westwood and PC Andy Durant to speak about changes to the safe scheme.
It was reported that PC John Spence would no longer be in charge of the safe scheme with immediate effect.
The new scheme will be run by the South East Neighbourhood Police Team and that included 3 Sergeants, 6 Police Officers and 4 PCSO’s.
Inspector Westwood stated that the Officers would work between 8am until 4pm and 4pm until midnight, albeit they would be prepared to attend Badsworth during the early hours if the demand was needed.
The Parish Council expressed that speeding and parking was a problem within the village and asked if traffic patrols would still be carried out via the Safe Scheme. Inspector Westwood explained that the Officers would carry out any tasks the Parish Council requested.
RESOLVED. The Parish Council would monitor the new Safe Scheme and ensure it gave the residents of Badsworth a first rate service.
344.0 To accept the Minutes of the last meeting
RESOLVED. That the minutes be accepted as a true and accurate record.
345.0 Matters arising
The Parish Council expressed their delight with the service they have been given from Paul Platts (Highway Engineer) at WMDC. It was noted that Paul had been extremely responsive to all their requests and was always efficient, polite and proactive when contacted.
The Clerk was requested to contact Ian Wiper of WMDC to relay the Parish Councils thanks and appreciation.
346.0 Village Matters
Cllr Sumpter asked if the Clerk had any information from WMDC re: Safe Routes to School and Badsworth Way footpath. The Clerk confirmed that she was no longer copied into
Cllr Sumpter asked the Clerk if she would contact Stuart Galey (WMDC) to make enquiries when the roundabout would be completed and line markings painted?
Cllr Sumpter reported that a vehicle had stopped at New Road and picked all the Daffodils before leaving.
Cllr Slinger reported that he was very pleased with WMDC and their work on the newly tarmaced pavements.
The Clerk was asked to contact Sharon Limb to enquire about the dog fouling signs, which were ordered for Badsworth Way.
347.0 Parish Council to set dates for Annual Parish Meeting (2008) and Annual General Meeting (2008)
RESOLVED. That the Annual Parish Meeting will be held on Tuesday 15th April 2008 at the earlier time of 7pm and the Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday 20th May 2008 at the earlier time of 7pm.
348.0 Correspondence
The Parish Council agreed to donate the sum of £100.00 to Yorkshire Air Ambulance. The Chair also asked that a further £25.00 from her annual allowance be donated to the Air Ambulance.
The Chair will contact Lee Gray and invite the Air Ambulance to attend their village day set for June 2008.
The Clerk read all correspondence received since the date of the last meeting and took responses from members.
349.0 Planning
The Clerk was asked to chase Planning Dept at
Cllr Shakespeare had viewed the planning application for Kildare, New Road and offered no objections.

Demolition and construction of one Dormer Bungalow. Mr Jonathon Cryer
350.0 Finance
RESOLVED. That the Parish Council agreed to pay the sum of £295.33 for the month of March 2008.
