CHARMING & ALARMING

Have you noticed with the advent of the (hopefully) Long Hot Summer when we sit in our gardens or in the house with all windows open to let in the soft summer breezes and the wonderful birdsong along, with the enticing smell of freshly burnt steak and sausages, the ALARM PHENOMENON  strikes! 

Yes folks the UNATTENDED ALARM is an annoyance to all.

Not only is it an annoyance it negates the usefulness of the alarm.

Remember the first Car alarms, you only had to pass a car for the Alarm to be activated and soon nobody to took a blind bit of notice of them, just "another faulty alarm" and the car thief could continue with his work undisturbed.

The danger is there for all to see, if home alarms are allowed to go off at all hours for what seems like hours then these will become as redundant as the car alarm.

If you have an alarm please ensure it is functioning properly and if you are leaving the house unattended for a period of time, try to make provision with a friend or neighbour to monitor the alarm and be in a position to investigate why the alarm is sounding and cancel if necessary.

Badsworth is a very quiet, generally secure village, so let's keep it that way and ensure the alarms maintain their usefulness.
